Filipa S\u00e1ragga d\u2019Orey\u2019s work portrays the connection between the silence of the soul and the colours of life. Her painting, of an eminently abstract and emotional nature, is a self-portrait in permanent mutation that summarises motherhood, landscape, and faith through her chromatic sensibility and symbolic strength.<\/strong><\/p>\n The Portuguese painter and writer transforms her vital experience into a plastic language where personal and family dreams and sorrows are translated into compositions of serenity, colour, and hope. She evokes depth, memory, and inner light. <\/span><\/p>\n A work that conveys solace, rest, and everyday beauty through its chromatic density, the result of a slow and meditative creative process, where colour is built layer by layer.<\/span><\/p>\n Her style combines lyrical abstraction, geometric compositions, and discrete and symbolic figurative presences, almost secret, within the layers of colour that suggest more than they show.<\/span><\/p>\n Nature, spirit, and family are the themes she gives form to through a chromatic palette that contrasts intensity with pastel colours and geometry of emotional abstraction. The result: paintings that decorate and move with profound human depth. <\/span><\/p>\n The characteristic abstract backgrounds full of superimposed colours are the heart of her work and the guiding thread of a work that evolves between the transcendent, the human, and the landscape.<\/span><\/p>\n The light and softness of pastel tones permeate everything she paints, balanced by intense colours that create a vibrant and breathable chromatic composition.<\/span><\/p>\n Colour transcends form and becomes emotion. It is her true language, her most powerful tool.<\/span><\/p>\n A lifelong artist, she studied Fine Arts in Lisbon, was a student of the classical master Lu\u00eds Guimar\u00e3es for over 20 years and was mentored by the internationally acclaimed Portuguese artist Paula Rego.
