Writing that impacts children and adults

In addition to painting, giving voice to children’s causes is the mission of the Portuguese author and artist Sáragga d’Orey.

Filipa Sáragga d’Orey’s books teach children to love themselves and discover the value of being unique. Her literary work conveys values of self-esteem, empathy, and inner beauty, helping little ones — and adults too — discover their own worth, free from comparisons or social pressure.

Her illustrated emotional-intelligence books The Blue Princess and the Hidden Happiness and The Book of Emotions are part of the National Reading Plan in Portuguese schools and were supported by the writer and psychiatrist Lobo Antunes, the UN Secretary-General António Guterres, and the President of the Republic of Portugal, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa.
